Workplace Bullying: America Going Postal & Does Chumlee have a Case?

Workplace bullying, which I suspect first started when Eve told Adam, "Eat this Apple or else..." is not something new but it's a trend which is quickly growing and jeopardizing the safety of workers and customers in the workplace. As Corporations and workers become held liable and accountable in the Court of Law new initiatives towards anti bullying are quickly emerging from companies that understand the serious consequences of ignoring it. New workplace rules which also cover e-mails, tweets and social postings are finding their way into new HR Manuals. Can't happen in your place? Just have a another look at that loveable Chumlee on Pawn Stars, the guy that everyone loves to poke fun at and doubt his level of skills. No, Chumlee doesn't have a case, because he is being paid to play a role in a softly scripted TV series, but if Chumlee was your employee, he may well (legally) inherit a small chunk of what you are working for. We all know that Life will imitate art .Workplaces which want that same family style atmosphere will ultimately wind up with their own version of   "Chumlee" . There is no time like the present to take a look at your own operation and see if the workplace culture is fostering this type of behavior. Remember, the easiest problem to solve is to address it  before it becomes a big problem!
