SPRINGFIELD – Three businesses have lost their licenses and five others are facing fines after an undercover police sting allegedly found flagrant violations of the city’s new pawnbroker ordinances.
Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and Police Commissioner William Fitchet announced the sanctions today at a press conference with City Councilors Thomas Ashe and Michael Fenton, who pushed for tougher pawn shop regulations that were approved in February after months of delays and debate.
