After Washington State University senior, Rachel Murphy, received a phone call about her saxophone last week, she couldn’t believe it – thinking the saxophone would be long gone by now. Murphy reported the saxophone, along with her wallet, which included her debit and credit cards, stolen from her locked trunk of her car in May, never thinking she would see it again.

When a man walked into Spokane, Washington’s Double Eagle Pawnshop to try and pawn a saxophone, everyone in the shop became suspicious. The man was only asking for $1,000 for the instrument, when manager, Ken Craudell, estimated its worth at $10,000. Craudell immediately called authorities, who advised him to try to keep the man in the store while they went through records of reported stolen items in their database. In the meantime, store employees to pictures of man’s vehicle and license plate in case he fled.
