Medford Oregon City Council is considering a longer hold period for items sold at pawn shops and second hand dealers. The new rule would extend the current hold period of 5 days to 15. They are also looking at requiring these shops to include a photo of all items purchased by these shops.
Data Age has over 2700 customers world wide and from what we see, a 15 day hold period is still way below the average, let alone 5 days. While the Medford shops may feel a slight sting, these hold periods, if used correctly, can help foster a stronger relationship with the community. As for including images with their police reporting, most modern pawn shop management systems can handle that easily.
