A Deeside business will hold an open day to commemorate D-Day this weekend. Regal Pawn on the Deva Business Park are hosting a Second World War day at their shop on Saturday from 11am-4pm. Staff members will wear period costume and children will get the chance to try on outfits from the 1940s.
There will also be an evacuation stall where children can create their own gas mask boxes and evacuee cards, as well as a rations table. Visitors will also get to see a variety of militaria including guns and medals. Charities including Flintshire Deaf Children’s Society, RainbowBiz and the Sea Cadets will also be there on the day.Vicki Manning said: “It’s going to be a fantastic day and we’re looking forward to it. We’ve got loads on including a catering truck specialising in Spam and Radio Deeside will be doing a 1940s broadcast.”
