David Sonnenthal, founder of New Bond Street Pawnbroking, does jewelry, art, watches, and sometimes cars, but says, “wine is the only thing that has held its money.” His wine pawning experience has included all major vintage wines, stating, “You name it, we’ve had it.” Sonnenthal’s firm has dealt with fine wines for the past six years and says if your wine knowledge is extensive, it is the best asset to invest in. Sonnenthal says the number of clients looking to pawn their wine collections are growing, high-end clientele have been affected by financial crisis and need fast access cash.
