Earlier this year the Florida legislator passed a new law allowing gun owners to apply for concealed weapons permits at some local tax collectors offices.
The current process of obtaining a permit includes at least 3 stops and a six month wait. Allowing for applications to be filed at the tax collectors office means one stop and a dramatically reduced wait time.
Starting September 30th five counties will start accepting applications. These include Pinellas, Okaloosa, Highlands, Indian River and Nassau.
