Pawn shops are a common place to recover stolen merchandise and with Police software’s such as Leads Online,
the resale of stolen items are becoming more and more infrequent.
But in a small town called Racine, Chicago there was a pawn shop called Rico’s Value City that you could trade stolen jewelry in exchange
for cash. Shop owner Riad Yasin would melt the stolen jewelry and performed as a repository so that the merchandise would not be traceable.
Unfortunately for Mr. Yasin his business came to an end when Police caught on to his paperless trail of pawns and he was sentenced to nine months
in the Racine County Jail, one year of probation, and a $250 fine.
