A Marion County School District employee accused of pawning school property has been arrested on numerous counts of dealing in stolen property and violation of the Florida Pawn Broker’s Act.

Wiring technician Michael Stephen Ziebart III, 23, was arrested Tuesday afternoon on 41 counts, according to the Ocala Police Department. In an email, OPD spokeswoman Sgt. Angy Scroble said detectives were reviewing other possible cases and more charges could be coming.

On Friday, a representative of Mark’s Jewelry & Pawn contacted the School District to ask if there was a program in which employees could buy used equipment from the district. That was because Ziebart had pawned two projectors, one with the packing receipt still in the box, according to OPD.
