Elbert County appears to be holding off on implementing a secondhand dealer ordinance, at least for this month.
Similar to the city of Elberton, who adopted a secondhand dealer ordinance on June 2nd, the Elbert County Board of Commissioners has been discussing implementing a similar ordinance, at the request of Elbert County Sheriff Melvin Andrews.
The ordinance would require a license to operate a secondhand business in the unincorporated areas of the county.
