More than $48,000 worth of stolen property was recovered by Eau Claire police and returned to its owners between Feb. 1 and June 1. A key component in many of the cases is pawn shops.
During that four-month period, Detective Jason Kaveney has investigated 95 cases, confiscated 89 pieces of stolen property, made 32 arrests and issued 26 citations for violating the city’s pawn ordinance.
