CHARLESTON, West Virginia –It’s a pawn shop that Charleston police officers said has a history of criminal activity.
“It’s the quickest, fastest way to get caught,” said owner of Cash for Gold on Charleston’s West Side, Gary Taylor. He was referring to criminals who attempt to sell or pawn stolen goods to pawn shops.
Charleston police officers said it all began when 27-year-old Brittany Milam went to McDonald’s along Patrick Street. They said that’s where she stole a purse. Milam took that stolen property from McDonald’s to the pawn shop right across the street, a block away, to sell it.
