The federal agency tracks guns that law enforcement agencies recover and trace during criminal investigations.
Hawaii law enforcement authorities recovered and traced 203 guns during 2013, according to newly released data from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Among the top crimes associated with those traces are possession of a weapon, gambling and drugs. Only two of the traces were related to homicides. More than 235,000 weapons were recovered and traced by law enforcement agencies nationally in 2013.
